Tuglaqabad first came on the world map of primatologists and much later on the tourist map of India. The area deserves it. The mesmerizing ruins which frolicking monkeys made their home. The ruins provided not only a sense of belonging to monkeys but me too and I am indebted to it. Come along and share their gaiety, afflictions, enchaining lives, tribulations, triumphs, and way of living, loving, birthingsorrows, births & deaths
As is the way with history this abandoned fort became the best possible home for Delhi monkeys but also a tourist attraction. Foreigners, students, villagers all enjoyed their day there. They even paid a fee to enter it.
Then time changed. Men came with trowels and shovels, spades and mattocks, buckets and wheelbarrows to digging up the ruins. They were from the department of archeology and had only one aim to recover the artifacts of 14th centaury. They scraped the greenery, cleared away the loose dirt while monkeys initially watched but their sensible leader led them away from that dusty air and barren land to other areas. It's been a long journey both for monkeys and me. Both are lost without magnificent, protective and green fort.

Lets go on a fascinating life of monkeys in the wild and who better than a woman who has spent her life with them. Allow me to show you Monkeys as partners, as cohorts, as leaders, their lives , tribulations, victories and defeats in the hand of human primates.
